The Author

My name is Rhea Mendezona and I created this blog originally to serve as a personal journal to keep track of my thoughts, random ramblings, instant inspirations, basically just my journey through this life. I was born and raised in the Philippines, Cebu City to be exact, but my entire family migrated to Houston, Texas in 2007. Currently, my husband Marco and I are residing in Indiana  as he is trying to finish his residency as an Internist. I, on the other hand, am enjoying this experience being a stay at home mom and spending time with our little ones, Cassie and Xavi.

For years, I’ve worked in the medical field as a medical administrative assistant/ admitting representative but my heart belongs to the stage. I love to perform (my original choice of profession) and I love to travel; I find both are opportunities to explore new things and enjoy other people’s culture, other people stories. I’m a fashion enthusiast, an avid fan of the vintage and the shabby-chic and an extreme bargain shopper attracted to small-town thrift shops. In between chores, being a mom and trying to make the house look nice, you’ll probably find me dabbling with some DIY project, anything that sparks creativity and brings out my artistic side.

Don’t hesitate to send me a message, feel free to tumble in and out of The Social Tumbleweed.

  2. Hi.. I’m pretty sure you don’t know me.. But we, my Aunt and Mom was trying to research their roots and we ended up reading your blog.. Their grandmother is the woman on the left. They said her name is Lola Lita and my mom’s mother is named Ines. Hopefully we can become friends and learn about our ancestors together. 😉

    1. Hi there! sorry it took me awhile to reply to your comment, haven’t been on this blog for months now ever since I started working. Ive only checked it recently and read your comment just now.

  3. I wish we lived close to one another. I feel like we would make really good friends and so would our little girls. I enjoy watching you and Cassie daily on instagram. And my daughter adores Cassie. She always has to watch her in your stories.
